About the Production

The title may be misleading, but the show is unmissable. Gaieties 2025 brought Big Game Week to life with an all-new student-written musical that blended campus humor, the Stanford-Cal rivalry, and a rotating set that made full use of Memorial Auditorium's vertical space for a "storybook ambiance." As with every Gaieties, the entire show was conceived, written, composed, and performed by Stanford students in a matter of weeks. CS lecturer Nick Parlante even made a cameo in The Streaker's hallucination sequence—continuing a long tradition of faculty cameos that has included admissions dean Fred Hargadon (seven appearances) and President Don Kennedy. Gaieties is more than a show—it's Stanford's oldest and most beloved theatrical tradition, dating back to 1911. The energy in Memorial Auditorium during Big Game Week is unlike anything else on campus.
